In 2023, the CONMEBOL Copa América™️ celebrates 107 years of history, passion, glory, tradition and prestige. It has been more than a century of spreading joy across the continent and generating unparalleled emotions for all South American football lovers.
Since the first time it was held, in Argentina in 1916, a total of 47 editions of the oldest national team tournament in the world have taken place, in which eight of the ten CONMEBOL member countries managed to make history by winning the continental title.
Argentina and Uruguay share first place in the champions table with 15 titles each, followed by Brazil with nine wins; Paraguay, Chile and Peru with two; and Colombia and Bolivia with one.
Throughout its 107 years, the continental tournament has provided the perfect backdrop for exceptional talent, fierce competition and unforgettable moments, leaving a huge mark on the game. It also served as a platform to honour the best players in the history of South American football.
For decades, the tournament has seen football legends such as Pelé, Maradona, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Francescoli, Valderrama, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Luis Suarez, Alexis Sanchez and many more, proudly wearing their national team jerseys and giving their heart and soul on the field.
In addition, it has always been a showcase for emerging South American talent and an opportunity for future superstars to unveil their talent to the world. In each edition, we witness the birth of new promising young players who captivate the public with their skill and prowess.

In 2024, a new edition of the CONMEBOL Copa America™️ will be held in the United States, where the competition and South American football as a whole will continue to grow stronger and into a place where dreams may come true.
