Here is the full list of every CONMEBOL Copa América™ Final. It’s important to note that the format of the oldest national team tournament in the world has changed over the years. Since the first tournament in 1916 to the tournament that just finished in 2024, the way the champion has been crowned has moved from a round-robin format, to a knockout stage with home and away matches, back to the round-robin before finally reaching the modern version of the competition that you see today. This story lists every edition in which a champion was decided in a finals format, which began in 1975.

From 1975 to 1983, the final was determined in a home and away format with two matches taking place. If both teams each won a match, like what happened in the 1975 and 1979 edition, a playoff was played. In 1979, since the playoff ended in a draw, Paraguay was crowned champions on aggregate. The 1989 and 1991 editions returned to a round-robin format before the competition shifted to the modern single knockout format.
