Lautaro Martínez continues to make football history. At 27, the Argentinian striker became Inter Milan’s all-time top scorer in the Champions League.

Before the match, the Racing Club-trained forward was tied with Adriano at 14 goals. But against Monaco, in the final match of the league phase, he netted all three goals in a 3-0 victory.

With this feat, Lautaro reached 17 goals, making him the club’s highest scorer in the competition since it adopted its current name in 1992. Counting the entire history of the European Cup, El Toro is now level with Sandro Mazzola, a club legend from the 1960s and '70s. Mazzola was instrumental in Inter’s first two titles in the competition, in 1964 and 1965.

Last year, Lautaro Martínez was the top scorer of the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa América™, scoring five goals, including the decisive finish in the final against Colombia.
