Referees, assistant referees and VAR referees summoned by CONMEBOL, along with UEFA and CONCACAF referees who will officiate in the competition, will meet for five days at the CONMEBOL Copa América USA 2024™ Referee Seminar, to focus on refreshing theoretical concepts and to continue with their physical preparation for the oldest national team tournament in the world.
From this Thursday, June 13 to Monday, June 17, in Dallas, Texas, the professionals summoned to referee in the competition participate in the Seminar with the aim of reinforcing technical concepts in a comprehensive way, working on physical aspects, in addition to carrying out different training activities. training on the field, classroom and VAR booths.
“This calling is a commitment for all of us, to be in a tournament with a lot of history, I think it is a great responsibility for all of us to be here. Beyond the fact that it is a personal competition, all your colleagues feel represented by you, everyone is going to be watching our work, that is why I talk about responsibility, commitment and doing the right thing,” commented Enrique Cáceres, President of the CONMEBOL Referees Commission, welcoming those summoned.
Among the topics to be trained are matches with players, a simulator in a VAR cabin; technical and physical evaluations, in addition to regenerative physiotherapy work, so that the referees arrive with the best conditioning.
A total of 101 referees were called for the CONMEBOL Copa América USA 2024™, among those are referees belonging to CONMEBOL, those belonging to UEFA, as part of a strategic exchange agreement between the Confederations, and those from Concacaf, as guests.
It is important to highlight that for the first time in the history of the men's CONMEBOL Copa América™, women were called up, as a result of their great work during the previous seasons and the commitment assumed by CONMEBOL since 2016, which is committed to the development of women on and off the playing field.

The CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™ will be the 48th edition of the oldest national team tournament in the world and will be played in the United States from June 20 to July 14 of this year, with the participation of ten CONMEBOL teams and six guests from Concacaf.
