La Celeste competed in Group C alongside the United States, Panama, and Bolivia. They won all three matches, scoring 9 goals and conceding just one, to advance to the Quarterfinals.
There, they defeated Brazil in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw. In the Semifinals, Marcelo Bielsa’s team fell 1-0 to Colombia. They secured third place with a penalty shootout victory against Canada after an emotional 2-2 draw.
